3.1.13. Head of the block of cylinders

Removal
Prevention

You make removal of a head of the block of cylinders on the cold engine. For fastening of a head of the block of cylinders it is necessary to use new bolts.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Depressurize fuel system and remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
2. Merge cooling liquid from the cooling system and unscrew spark plugs.
3. Take off a gear belt.
4. Remove inlet and final collectors. If dismantling of a head of the block of cylinders is not required, it can be removed together with collectors. But for this purpose it is necessary to perform the following operations:

  – disconnect electric sockets from the case of a throttle and a collector and exempt a plait of wires from an inlet collector;
  – disconnect hoses of supply of fuel from the case of a throttle and hoses of supply of cooling liquid to an inlet collector;
  – unscrew a bolt from a suspension bracket of support of an inlet collector and the top bolt of fastening of the generator;
  – disconnect an accelerator cable;
  – unscrew a reception exhaust pipe from a final collector and disconnect the oxygen sensor.

5. Uncover a head of the block of cylinders.
6. Remove a camshaft pulley.
7. Unscrew bolts of fastening of a back casing of a gear belt to the camshaft case.
8. Disconnect electric sockets from the DIS block and the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid.
9. Weaken a collar and disconnect a hose of cooling liquid from the thermostat case.
10. Check that all hoses, pipes and wires are disconnected from a head of the block of cylinders.
11. In the sequence, the return to tightening, gradually unscrew bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders.
12. Remove the camshaft case from a head of the block of cylinders.
13. Remove a head of the block of cylinders from the block of cylinders. At the same time do not displace pushers and blocks of axial pressure.

14. Remove laying of a head of the block of cylinders.

Preparation for installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders have to be absolutely pure. For their cleaning use a firm plastic or wooden scraper. When cleaning be careful as it is very easy to damage aluminum alloy. Check that the deposit did not get to oil and water canals. It is especially important for the lubrication system as the deposit can block supply of oil to engine components. If necessary clear channels.
2. Check the interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders for existence of notches, deep scratches and other damages. If defects small, they can be removed with machining. But at major defects of a detail are subject to replacement.
3. Using a metal ruler and the probe, check planeness of the interfaced surfaces.
4. Clear openings under bolts in the block. Screwing up of a bolt in the opening filled with oil can break off the block because of hydraulic pressure.
5. Replace bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders irrespective of their state.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check that the piston of the first cylinder is in the top dead point.
2. Check that two directing cores are installed in the block of cylinders.
3. Establish new laying of a head of the block of cylinders. Shooters noted the provision of the directing pins.
4. At installation track that marking of TORAHS / OBEN was directed up.
5. Establish a head of the block of cylinders on the directing pins.
6. Check that the interfaced surfaces of a head of the block of cylinders and the case of the camshaft, pure and dry. Check that the adjusting tag on a pulley of the camshaft is above.
7. Apply a thin film of sealant on the surface of a head of the block of cylinders interfaced to the camshaft case.
8. Oil the top part of levers pure engine.
9. Install the camshaft case on a head of the block of cylinders.
10. Establish bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders and tighten them by hand.
11. Gradually and consistently tighten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders according to requirements imposed in subsection 3.1.2.
12. Screw in bolts of fastening of a back casing of a gear belt to the camshaft case.
13. Establish a pulley of the camshaft and a gear belt.
14. Connect electric sockets to components of a head of the block of cylinders.
15. Connect a hose of cooling liquid to a casing of the thermostat and fix by a collar.
16. Connect collectors.
17. Establish a wheel and lower the car.
18. Check that all pipes and hoses are reliably connected and fill in cooling liquid in the cooling system and establish spark plugs.
19. Connect the accumulator, start the engine and check it for existence of leaks.
