GENERAL INFORMATION

The catalyst for engines with spark ignition of working mix

Prevention

Ethylated gasoline does harm to the catalyst and elements of electric equipment why they lose working capacity.

Thanks to the fact that the opening of a bulk mouth of the fuel tank of cars with the catalyst becomes narrower input of the gun of a fuel-dispensing column with ethylated gasoline is prevented.
Prevention

Non-compliance with the instructions given below can lead to damage of the catalyst or car:

 – at interruptions in ignition or in operation of the engine after its start-up in a cold state, at obvious deceleration of power of the engine or at other violations in work indicating malfunction in system of ignition it is necessary to address immediately in an authorized workshop of Opel. If necessary quickly to continue the movement at a small speed and with a small frequency of rotation of a shaft of the engine;
 – at hit in the catalyst of not burned down fuel there can be an overheat and damage of the catalyst.

Therefore avoid:

 – frequent consecutive launches of the cold engine;
 – too long inclusion of a starter during start-up (during start-up there is a fuel injection);
 – fuel reserve expenditures in a tank till the end (uneven supply of fuel leads to an overheat);
 – launch of the engine by pushing or towage (not burned down fuel can get to the catalyst);

It is necessary to use a wire for connection of a starter to the auxiliary battery.

The catalyst for diesel engines

Prevention

Non-compliance with the instructions given below can lead to damage of the catalyst of the diesel or the car:

 – at interruptions in operation of the engine, at obvious deceleration of power of the engine or at other violations in work, it is necessary to address immediately in an authorized workshop of Opel;
 – if necessary it is short-term to continue the movement at a small speed and with a small frequency of rotation of a shaft of the engine.

Servicing

All works on servicing have to be carried out in an authorized workshop of Opel according to the frequency ordered by firm. Then you can be sure that all elements of electric equipment, systems of injection and ignition work optimum that low indicators of emission of harmful substances are maintained and durability of catalytic system is provided.
