4.1.6. Radiator fan

Check

Electric food to the fan of cooling moves via the lock of ignition and the fuse. The control of the fan is made by the thermal sensor installed on the right side in a radiator.

The fan has to turn on at excess of working temperature of the engine, that is several minutes prior to an entrance of an arrow of the index of temperature of the engine to the red sector. If the fan does not turn on, remove wires from the thermal sensor, connect them among themselves and include ignition. If the fan starts working after that probably the thermal sensor which is subject to replacement failed. In case the fan still does not work, check whether tension to the thermal sensor moves. If tension on the thermal sensor is absent, damage of wires is possible, or the fuse fused. If tension moves, check reliability of connection with the mass of the second wire of the sensor. If the thermal sensor and an electrical wiring in good shape, so it is possible, the fan electric motor is damaged. The electric motor can be checked by giving of tension for it additional wires from the accumulator.

Removal

MODELS WITH PETROL ENGINES WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the electric socket from the engine of the fan of a radiator and release electric wires from support brackets.
2. Unscrew the top bolts of fastening of the fan of a radiator to a back part of a radiator.
3. Take the fan assembled from the lower fastening and remove it from a motor compartment.
4. Unscrew nuts, remove a lock ring and remove the radiator fan electric motor from a casing.

MODELS WITH PETROL ENGINES WITH AIR CONDITIONING

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect both plugs from the accumulator, then remove the block of the relay and safety locks located in front of the accumulator.
2. Disconnect the electric socket from the auxiliary fan.
3. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of the tire of grounding to the fan.
4. Disconnect electric sockets from two sensors of pressure of air conditioning located on a partition of a motor compartment.
5. Merge cooling liquid from the cooling system.
6. Weaken collars and remove the top hose connecting a casing of the thermostat and a radiator.
7. Unscrew bolts of fastening of the heat exchanger on the right side of a radiator.
8. Remove electric sockets from two thermal sensors of air conditioning located on the basis of on the right side radiator.
9. Disconnect the electric socket from the air conditioning compressor.
10. Release heat exchanger pipelines from fastening brackets.
11. Disconnect the left side of the block of the fan from a radiator, raise the fan block up and take from a motor compartment.
12. Disconnect electric wires, unscrew bolts of fastening and remove the electric motor of the fan from the fan block.
13. Take a bracket and remove the fan from the electric motor.

MODELS WITH DIESEL ENGINES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the accumulator and a support of the accumulator.
2. Remove a front bumper.
3. Remove the right insert of an arch of a wheel. Then disconnect the electric socket from the wires going to the fan.
4. On models about air conditioning disconnect the electric socket from pressure sensor in a back part of the engine.
5. On models with the diesel engine of 1,7 l remove the auxiliary pump of cooling and disconnect hoses from a radiator.
6. Remove air supply tubes to the heat exchanger on the left side of a radiator.
7. Disconnect all electric wires from the radiator fan block.
8. On models with air conditioning disconnect electric wires from the auxiliary fan and the compressor.
9. Unscrew bolts of fastening of the fan to a radiator
10. Take the radiator fan from the lower right suspension bracket up.
11. Remove a lock ring and remove the radiator fan.
12. Unscrew bolts of fastening and remove the radiator fan engine.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal. Fill in cooling liquid in the cooling system.
