2.3.5.1. Check and replacement of an auxiliary driving belt

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

On models with engines of 1,7 l the generator, the pump of the amplifier of steering and the compressor of air conditioning are given by separate auxiliary driving belts.

Check and replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check a condition of driving belts on all their length. Also check pulleys for existence of notches, cracks, deformation and corrosion.
2. Remove a casing of the air filter.
Driving compressor belt of air conditioning on engines of 1,7 l
3. Weaken a bolt of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension and weaken a belt tension, rotating a regulator bolt. Take off a belt from pulleys.
4. Establish a new belt on pulleys. Carry out a tension of a belt, using a regulator bolt. At the same time the belt deflection from pressing by a hand thumb on long branches of a belt has to make about 10 mm.
5. Tighten the required moment a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension and establish a casing of the air filter.
Driving belt of the pump of the amplifier of steering of the engine of 1,7 l
6. On models with air conditioning remove a driving compressor belt.
7. Weaken bolts of fastening of the pump, weaken a belt and remove it from pulleys.
8. Establish a new belt on pulleys. Carry out a tension of a belt movement of the pump. At the same time the belt deflection when pressing by a hand thumb on a long branch of a belt has to make 10 mm.
9. Establish a driving compressor belt of air conditioning and a casing of the air filter.
Driving belt of the generator on the engine of 1,7 l
10. Lift a forward part of the car and record on supports. Remove the right forward wheel.
11. Take off a driving belt of the pump of the amplifier of steering.
12. Weaken bolts of fastening of the generator and, moving the generator to the engine, weaken a tension of a driving belt and remove it from pulleys.
13. Establish a new belt on pulleys. Carry out a tension of a belt, moving the generator from the engine. At the same time the belt deflection from pressing by a thumb on long branches of a belt has to make 10 mm. Tighten bolts of fastening of the generator the required moment.
14. Establish a driving belt of the pump of the amplifier of steering and the compressor of air conditioning.
15. Establish a wheel and lower the car.
Auxiliary driving belt of the engine of 2,0 l
16. Lift a forward part of the car and record on supports. Remove the right forward wheel.
17. Note an arrangement of a driving belt on pulleys.
	18. A wrench turn a basic plate of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension, release a belt and remove it from pulleys.
19. Put on a new driving belt pulleys.
20. Weaken the mechanism of a tension of a driving belt and establish a belt on a pulley then slow release the mechanism of a tension of a driving belt.
21. Establish a wheel and lower the car.
22. Establish a casing of the air filter.
