2.2.4.2. Check and replacement of an auxiliary driving belt

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At the switched-off engine examine a condition of a driving belt on all its length. Check pulleys of an auxiliary belt for existence of notches, cracks, deformation and corrosion.
2. Check position of the lever of assembly of the mechanism of a tension of a driving belt. The lever has to be between an emphasis (1) and (3) on a basic plate and move freely.

3. If the driving belt is worn-out or damaged or the lever of the mechanism of a tension is located opposite to an emphasis, the driving belt needs to be replaced.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a casing of the air filter.
2. On models with air conditioning remove the right forward support of the power unit.
3. Before removal of a driving belt note its situation on pulleys. If the belt is repeatedly established, note the direction of its rotation.
4. Using a wrench, take away the tension mechanism lever from a driving belt for removal of a tension of a driving belt, and take off a belt from pulleys.
5. Establish a new driving belt.
6. Check that the belt is correctly located on all pulleys and slowly release the belt tension mechanism.
7. On models with air conditioning establish a support of the power unit.
8. On all models establish a casing of the air filter.
