GENERAL INFORMATION

Because the automatic transmission represents very difficult unit, for diagnostics of malfunctions and service of the transmission it is necessary to address on HUNDRED.

Oil leak

The oil used in the transmission, usually dark color. Therefore do not mix it with engine oil which can get on the transmission from the engine. For definition of leak of oil purify dirt from a case of the transmission and adjacent areas and carry out a control trip at a small speed that oil was not transferred by an air stream. Install the car on a viewing hole and define the place of leak of oil. Leak can come from three zones: an oil pan, a pipe of the probe of measurement of level of oil and a zone of a supply of oil to the heat exchanger.

Oil of the transmission of brown color also has a burned smell:

– low level of oil in the transmission.

Insufficiently accurate gear shifting:


– incorrectly established or adjusted cable of the choice of transfers. Because of it the following malfunctions can be observed:

– start of the engine can be made in situation not only "P" or "N";
– the indicator specifies position of the selector not that which is included actually;
– the car begins the movement at installation of the lever of the selector in situation "P" or "N";
– indistinct or chaotic gear shifting.

The mode of inclusion of a low gear does not work when pressing against the stop of the accelerator pedal:

– low level of oil in the transmission;
– wrong adjustment of a cable of the choice of transfers.

The engine is not started irrespective of position of the lever of the selector or started in any position of the selector:

– the sensor of blocking of a starter is incorrectly adjusted;
– wrong adjustment of a cable of the choice of transfers.
