3.3.8. Replacement of a gear belt

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

Replacement of a gear belt needs to be made on the cold engine.


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Install the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead point in a compression step. Bolts record pulleys of the camshaft and fuel pump.
2. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft.
3. Unscrew bolts and remove the lower casing of a gear belt together with rubber consolidation.
4. Weaken bolts of fastening of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt and disconnect a tension mechanism spring from adjusting pins.
5. Take off a gear belt. If the gear belt is repeatedly established, note the direction of its rotation
6. Check a condition of a gear belt for wear, stratification or pollution by oil. In case the belt is polluted by oil, it is necessary to find the place of leak of oil and to eliminate it.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear pulleys of a gear belt. Check that pulleys of the camshaft and fuel pump are recorded by bolts. Temporarily establish a pulley of a bent shaft to the cogged pulley and check that the tag on a pulley is combined with the index on the case of the oil pump. Also the tag on the cogged pulley of a bent shaft has to be combined with the index on the case of the oil pump (the tag is specified by an arrow).
2. Remove an auxiliary pulley of a bent shaft and establish a gear belt on pulleys of a bent shaft, the oil pump, fuel pump, a pulley of the camshaft and check that the back branch of a belt was hardly tense. Check that adjusting tags of pulleys are combined with indexes.
3. Pull a gear belt a tension mechanism pulley spring.
4. Check that the adjusting tag of a pulley of a bent shaft is combined with the index then unscrew tightening bolts from pulleys of the fuel pump and a pulley of the camshaft.
5. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension and turn a pulley of a bent shaft in the opposite direction on 60 ° (counterclockwise).
6. Automatically to adjust a tension of a gear belt, record a pulley of a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye and tighten a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension.
7. Turn a bent shaft on two whole revolutions and check that all adjusting tags on pulleys were combined with the index.
8. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension and turn a bent shaft on 60 ° counterclockwise to adjust a tension of a gear belt. Record a pulley of a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye and tighten a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension.
9. Establish a bent shaft of the engine in situation at which the piston of the first cylinder is in the top dead point in a step of compression and check that all adjusting tags on pulleys were combined with indexes.
10. Establish casings of a gear belt and a pulley of a bent shaft.
